Universal Vaccination Deadline Extended

Mexico Boosts vaccination Rates with Mall-Based ‌Clinics in Ciudad juarez

Ciudad Juarez,⁢ Mexico, is making it easier ⁣than ever⁢ for residents to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and the flu. A new initiative brings vaccination clinics directly to popular shopping ‌malls, offering convenient access to essential immunizations for children and adults alike.

The program, running ‍thru ⁢January 6th, offers a range of vaccines, ‍including those for influenza, COVID-19, and a ‍complete schedule of childhood immunizations such⁢ as the Hexavalent, Rotavirus, DPT, Measles, Rubella (SR), and pneumococcal vaccines. This thorough approach aims to improve vaccination rates and protect⁢ the community from preventable diseases.

Karla Villegas, the vaccination coordinator for the ⁣Juarez Health Region, reports a positive response. “We have had a very good response,” she ⁢stated, “one hundred influenza vaccines have been⁣ administered daily, and yesterday 50 were administered against Covid… of the other vaccines to complete the schedule there have been between 20 to 50 doses (each).” The ‌program’s success is ‍attributed⁤ to its convenience; families can easily get their children vaccinated‌ while shopping.

villegas further ⁤explained the strategy: ‍ “When a mother‌ comes ‍to the module ⁢with a⁤ card, the missing vaccine ⁣is ⁤verified and is used to administer the vaccine. The intention of these modules is to bring this service closer, so that the mother‌ has the ‌opportunity and time during shopping to keep the ⁣child up⁣ to date with their vaccines.”

The initiative isn’t just targeting children. Pneumococcal vaccines, previously ⁣limited to children under five, have recently been extended⁢ to individuals over 60. ⁢ Antonio Guerrero ‍Rodríguez,‌ 59, took advantage ‍of the mall clinic to receive his flu shot. ‌ He shared his experience, saying, “It became ‍crucial for me to wear⁢ it [the flu shot] to protect myself from viruses; last year I ⁤didn’t wear it and I got ‌sick.”

The vaccination clinics are located at Alameda Iglesias and Talamás shopping ⁢centers and will be⁤ open from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on january 6th. This innovative approach to vaccination mirrors similar successful programs in the U.S. that have utilized convenient⁤ locations to increase immunization rates.

This initiative highlights Mexico’s commitment to public health and its proactive ‌approach to combating vaccine-preventable diseases. The convenience offered by these mall-based clinics ‍is a significant step towards ensuring broader community protection.

Mexico’s Innovative Approach to Vaccinations: An⁣ Interview with Dr. ‌ana⁤ Rodriguez

Senior Editor: Welcome ⁤back to World Today News. Today, we have Dr. Ana Rodriguez, a public health expert specializing‌ in vaccination⁢ programs, to discuss a ⁤fascinating initiative taking place in ⁤Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. dr. Rodriguez, thank you for joining us.

Dr. Rodriguez: Its my pleasure. It’s exciting to see innovative approaches to public health unfolding.

Senior Editor: Exactly. Let’s ‍talk about Ciudad Juarez. They’re making headlines for a truly unique vaccination strategy—bringing clinics directly to shopping malls. can you tell us more about this?
