Universal sets Jurassic World: Dominion one year ahead to summer 2022 | NOW

Universal Pictures has decided on the film Jurassic World: Dominion to be moved to June 10, 2022. That is more than a year later than initially planned, reports Variety. Postponing the blockbuster is next in a growing list of movies postponed due to the coronavirus.

Jurassic World: Dominion was originally scheduled for the summer of 2021. The recordings had to be stopped in March due to the corona pandemic.

The production of Jurassic Park: Dominion was one of the first to get back on track since the corona outbreak, in part due to extensive health protocols on set. Sources sign up Variety that the recordings of the blockbuster are currently still in progress and will take another three weeks.

The film is the sixth in the Jurassic Parkseries. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are starring. They also played the leading roles in the fourth and fifth parts. Actors Laura Dern, Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum can also be seen in Dominion. Colin Trevorrow is directed.

Jurassic Park: Dominion is not the first major movie Universal is postponing due to the corona virus. The studio had already added this earlier F9: The Fast Saga from the Fast & Furiousseries.

In the last days it was also announced that other major films are being moved to a later date for the time being. So include Dune, James Bond: No Time To Die in The Batman postponed. The release date of Matrix 4 was just brought forward.
