Chain Universal beach hotels 2022 ended with the purchase of the hotel MySeaHouse Neptune, its first resort in Playa de Palma. It is planned to invest between 5 and 6 million euros for its renovation.
The hotel, located on the beachfront of Playa de Palma, is a 4-star hotel with 114 rooms built in the 1950s and will undergo a renovation this winter to bring the design and facilities up to the standards and quality of the Universal Beach Hotels brand .
The property offers cycling facilities, an outdoor swimming pool with solarium, a gym, a sauna and several gastronomic spaces (including a pool bar).
The sale process, the amount of which has not been disclosed, has been exclusively assisted by Colliers and involves the change of ownership and management of this hotel asset
“We are proud to include this emblematic hotel in Playa de Palma, an area in great demand that we did not yet have in our portfolio. It fits perfectly with the standards of our hotel chain, located in a privileged position facing the sea and being one of the with more history than the region,” he says Yannick ErhartCEO of Universal Beach Hotels.
The hotel’s location and the difficulty of finding opportunities in important tourist areas such as Playa de Palma were key to closing the deal, the chain confirmed.
In early 2022, Tobit Neumannmarketing director of the chain, told HOSTELTUR that they planned to invest 40 million euros in its transformation and that they were looking for assets to expand the portfolio, mainly in the Balearic Islands.
At the moment the Universal Beach Hotels portfolio consists of 17 hotels in Mallorca, particularly in Sant Elm, Colonia de Sant Jordi, S’Illot, Magaluf, Paguera, Cala Millor, Canyamel, Playa de Muro and now Playa de Palma. In turn, it will incorporate a new establishment in Formentera, under construction in the Es Pujols area, which will have 31 suites.
