Organized by Oretania, Federation of Associations of people with disabilities, in collaboration with the University Center Associated to the UNED ‘Lorenzo Luzuriaga’, the purpose of this event is to show an analysis and assessment of universal accessibility in these areas. As the president of Oretania, Eloy Sánchez de la Nieta, has advanced in Onda Cero.
For a long time the concept of universal accessibility only referred to improvements in physical environments, we talked about the elimination of architectural barriers. Now it has evolved and currently an environment is fully accessible when all its paths are, so that a person with any type of disability does not see their activities interrupted or hindered because something prevents them from advancing on their journey autonomously, he explains. Sánchez de la Nieta.
Given the current relevance of universal accessibility, nationally and internationally, Oretania has decided to tackle this problem this year, also showing the analysis carried out these months with the AYO project on it, as well as making visible examples of good practices in Spain and in participating countries.
The various interventions are complemented with a Round Table where the “Accounts of exclusion due to accessibility during youth” will be discussed, as well as the intervention of Tiberio Feliz Murias, Director of the Center for Attention to University Students with Disabilities (UNIDIS) of the UNED.
The congress, which will be held on November 25, in morning and afternoon sessions, welcomes speakers from Spain, Greece, Portugal, Romania and Sweden, and is offered with free registration, in face-to-face and live online, prior registration on the website of the Associated Center.
