London: Former champion Manchester United escaped defeat in English Premier League football.
They drew 2-2 with Leeds United at Old Trafford. Erik ten Haah’s men staged a classic comeback from two goals down. Leeds took the lead in the first minute of the match with Wilfred Gnonto’s goal. United tried their best to fight back in the first half but to no avail.
Leeds doubled their lead early in the second half through Raphael Varane’s own goal. United brought on Pelestri and Jaden Sancho. Marcus Rashford equalized in the 62nd minute. Dalot’s cross was headed into the net by Rashford. Substitute Sancho equalized in the 70th minute. Manchester United is in the third position with 43 points from 22 games.
Leeds are in 16th place with 19 points from 21 games. At the same time, Spanish giant Real Madrid reached the finals of the FIFA Club World Cup. Real’s progress was achieved by defeating Al Ahli 4-1. Vinicius Jr., Federic Valverde, Rodrigo and Sergio Arribaz scored for Real in the match at the Prince Mouly Abdullah Stadium. Ali Moulul scored a goal.
