At around 6:20 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, a man pulled a handgun at a grocery store in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood. The 24-year-old wanted the contents of the box. Only the store employee didn’t let go and pulled a pistol from his belt and opened fire on the attacker.
The thief was shot in the chest but fought back, he explains CBS, hitting the employee, a 63-year-old Palestinian citizen, in the chest and back. When the police arrived at the scene, he discovered that he was injured and was taken to hospital where he died.
The attacker managed to exit the grocery store, misnamed El Barakah (the blessing) but collapsed a block away, where he was found dead.
