United States – Steve Bannon indicted for refusing to testify in attack on Capitol Hill

Published on

Steve Bannon, former adviser to Donald Trump, has been indicted for his refusal to testify before the House of Representatives commission of inquiry into the January 6 attack on the Capitol, the Justice Department announced on Friday.

Steve Bannon refused to submit to subpoenas requiring documents and his testimony, relying on the argument of Donald Trump, yet rejected by a judge, according to which the communications of the former president of the United States can remain confidential.
Steve Bannon has been charged with two counts of contempt of Congress, one for his refusal to testify, the other for his refusal to transmit documents.
