The conference, which focused on alternative treatments to fight the virus, brought together between 800 and 900 participants. Several media, such as “The Guardian”, revealed that seven doctors had tested positive for COVID-19 following this rally which was held at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala on November 6.
The organizer, Dr. John Littell, however denied the existence of this outbreak: “Only one doctor fell ill and it is because his father had been ill in the Florida Keys before coming”, he said. he told “The Ledger” newspaper.
The family doctor also mentioned that a “handful of others” had mild cases.
Unvaccinated, Dr. Littell is convinced that ivermectin is effective in treating and preventing COVID-19.
Lauded by many anti-vaccines, this drug is sometimes prescribed to treat parasites in humans.
The difficulty in obtaining it has led some people to turn to its version intended for cattle.
In October, the doctor told the newspaper that he wrote between 20 and 40 prescriptions for the antiparasitic drug per week.
At the same time, Health Canada had warned the population against this false remedy after having identified an increase in reports in poison control centers concerning ivermectin during the summer.
