United States, Qatar, and Egypt working with Israel and Hamas to negotiate prisoner release

The US is said to be working with Qatar and Egypt to push Israel and Hamas to an agreement to release many of the more than 200 prisoners. However, despite reports that the two sides were close to reaching agreements earlier in the week, the United States believes there may not be an agreement.

The publication’s sources report that during negotiations between Israel and Hamas on the exchange of at least 50 hostages, mostly women and children, for a multi-day truce, the parties did not reach a consensus on specific details.

The US believes an agreement is the best option to ensure the safety of the large number of detainees, but tactical plans are being developed in case circumstances change.

It is noted that United States military or law enforcement agencies would not necessarily be involved in the actual execution of such an operation, as foreign forces have often carried out plans developed in partnership with their American counterparts in the past.

Israel’s war with Hamas

Hamas militants invaded Israel on October 7. They kidnapped at least 240 people and also killed civilians.

In response, Israel launched an operation against terrorists. Currently, within its framework, the Israel Defense Forces have deployed their troops into the Gaza Strip.

It is reported that Hamas has released only four hostages since the start of the war – two Americans and two Israelis.
