Doha: The Qatari Ministry of Public Health has obtained national accreditation status from the United States Public Health Accreditation Council. Qatar is the first country outside the United States to receive such accreditation. Public Health Minister Dr. Hanan Mohammed Al-Kuwari received the Certificate of Accreditation for Public Health Services in Qatar from Paul Kuhnert, President and CEO of the Public Health Accreditation Board.
This recognition is for those who strictly adhere to international public health standards. The ceremony was attended by several officials from the Ministry of Public Health, Primary Health Care Corporation, Hamad Medical Corporation and Qatar University.
The designation comes just weeks before the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar, adding to the country’s status. It is the first time in the history of the FIFA World Cup that the tournament will be held in a country that has received international public health accreditation. marking This recognition will certainly boost the country’s confidence in applying the best public health standards to the tournament, including emergency health services, mass safety and other public health services.
