The parents of an American forty-something were ordered this week to pay him 30,441 dollars (or 25,807 euros). The father, believing he was doing his son a favor, had gotten rid of pornographic films and magazines.
A 43-year-old American won a lawsuit against his own parents this week. The latter accused them of having thrown part of his collection of pornographic films and magazines., as revealed by The Guardian.
Following his divorce, David Werking, 43, returned to live for ten months with his parents in Michigan. When he settled down again on his own, he realized that part of his belongings had disappeared: the boxes that contained his pornographic films and magazines. David Werking’s father would then have sent an email of explanations to his son : “Frankly, David, I did you a great service by getting rid of all this”.
Not really convinced, David Werking decided to file a complaint against his parents. In a first decision rendered last December, US District Judge Paul Maloney ordered Werking’s parents to compensate their son.
David Werking estimated the value of his collection at $ 29,000 (24,585 euros). Paul Maloney finally condemned this week the parents to pay the sum of 30,441 dollars (or 25,807 euros) to their son as well as 14,500 dollars (12,293 euros) to the latter’s lawyer.
