The Biden administration is studying the possibility of setting up a vaccine passport as part of the fight against the coronavirus.
In the name of individual freedoms
The vaccination campaign against coronavirus strides forward to United States in the face of the rapid circulation of the disease. The Biden administration is considering the use of vaccination passport, but the Florida decided to ban this document. Indeed, the republican governor of this state, Ron DeSantis, announced on Friday April 2 that the “passport vaccinel “is prohibited in the name of respect for”individual liberties“.
A decree from the governor
The newspaper The world reports that a governor’s decree has been issued to prohibit the administrative services of that state from issuing these passports or any type of “document to certify“that a person has received a vaccine against Covid-19.
By this text, the companies of “Sunshine State“can no longer demand from their customers this type of document or proof of immunization to the virus. R. DeSantis, passports also threaten medical confidentiality.
Unacceptable
At a press conference, the governor of Florida denounced this hypothesis. In his view, it is totally unacceptable that a government or the private sector require every individual to show proof of vaccination just to participate in society.
“You want to go to the cinema ? Do you have to show this? No. Want to go see a game? No. Want to go to an amusement park? No. We don’t agree with this“, he pointed out.
In Florida, more than 6 million people of the 22 million inhabitants, have received at least one dose of a vaccine against Covid-19.
