Mandates received by Facebook “concerned charges related to a criminal investigation”justified the social network in a communiquéTuesday evening. “Court documents indicate that police at the time were investigating the case of a stillborn baby who was burned and buried, not a decision to have an abortion”adds the company, which explains that it has so far been subject to an obligation of non-disclosure.
As a reminder, most Facebook user information is stored on servers accessible by the company. It is nevertheless possible to benefit, since 2016, from an encryption of messages, but under certain conditions (namely: use the Messenger application on a mobile device, and select a particular option).
