Libreville, May 9, 2023 (AGP)- This Tuesday, May 9, a New York jury found Donald Trump at fault for sexually assaulting former journalist and writer E. Jean Carroll in the 1990s, and for defaming her. ci by calling her a liar.
The jury of this civil court had met during the day to deliberate. According to the correspondent, the nine jurors determined that the former US president was not responsible for a “viol“, but of a sexual assault. The Manhattan Federal Civil Court also decided that he had to pay some 5 million dollars (nearly 3 billion FCFA) in damages for this sexual assault, and for defamation from the revelation of the facts by E. Jean Carroll in 2019.
The former columnist for Elle magazine said that Donald Trump raped her in a dressing room of a New York department store, Bergdorf Goodman, in the spring of 1996. Charges disputed by Donald Trump, who plans to win back the House White in 2024.
