The United States Congress has approved the formal opening of an impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden. The reason is the controversial business deals abroad of the president’s son Hunter Biden.
The vote in the lower house of Congress was along party lines, with 221 Republicans voting for an investigation and 212 Democrats voting against. Republicans, who hold the majority in the House of Representatives, accuse Democrat Biden of using his influence when he was Barack Obama’s vice president for his son’s questionable business deals in China and Ukraine.

Three congressional committees are already investigating allegations of abuse of office by Biden, but have yet to prove it. Even if congressmen vote to impeach the president, the Democratic-controlled Senate will acquit him.
“The American people need congressmen to take action on the important priorities for the nation and the world, and not to waste their time with political tricks,” said Joe Biden on the occasion of the vote, writes BNT.
His son Hunter Biden refused to testify before Congress behind closed doors.
“They mocked my struggle with drug addiction, belittled my recovery only to try to dehumanize me, shame and harm my father who has dedicated himself to public service. For 6 years I have been the target of relentless attacks by the Trump machine and they’re just screaming where’s Hunter? Well, here I am. I’m here! And let me be clear – my father is not involved in my business affairs,” said Hunter Biden – son of US President Joe Biden.
