United Airlines to launch new seasonal Nice-New York route in April 2022

This fifth direct connection from France is part of a vast transatlantic expansion plan announced today by United Airlines.

With the strong disruptions that still exist on connecting networks following the upheavals of the Covid-19 crisis, point-to-point flights can turn out to be new growth levers. This is how the company United Airlines has just announced that it will open from April 30, 2022 (subject to government approval) a new seasonal service from Nice to New York / Newark. Operated in a premium Boeing 767-300 equipped with a United Polaris business class cabin with a larger capacity, this new non-stop route will be the American company’s fifth flight from France, with routes from Paris CDG to New York / Newark, Washington-Dulles, Chicago and San Francisco, whose flights are scheduled to resume this winter.

More corridor access for business classes

The Boeing 767-300 will be equipped with 16 additional United Polaris business seats, which represents a more than 50% increase in the number of seats with direct aisle access, bringing the total number of business class seats to 46. The aircraft also offers 22 seats in United Premium plus (premium economy class), 47 seats in Economy Plus and 52 seats in economy class.

Significant redeployment

This opening is part of a vast transatlantic expansion plan, announced today, with 10 new routes and five new destinations: Amman (Jordan) to Washington-Dulles, Bergen (Norway), The Azores (Portugal ), Mallorca (Balearic Islands) and Tenerife (Canary Islands) to New York / Newark which will be open in spring 2022. In addition, United will add frequencies to five European destinations: Berlin (from Washington-Dulles), Dublin (from from New York / Newark), Milan (from Chicago), Munich (from Denver) and Rome (from New York / Newark). United will also relaunch seven lines that had been suspended due to the pandemic, from Bangalore, Frankfurt, Tokyo-Haneda, Nice and Zurich. These flight reopenings are subject to government approval. As a reminder, the Nice-New York line was initially announced in August 2019 for a launch from May 3, 2020. This launch had not taken place due to the occurrence of the Covid-19 crisis, but it was in flight programs and therefore United considers it a suspended line.
