The North American airline United Airlines is now offering flight tickets between Mallorca and New York for sale. The connection between the Balearic island and the US state is due to go into operation from next June. Newark Liberty Airport, which is located in New Jersey, is to be approached.
It is planned to handle around 50 flights in the summer months from June to September 2022. These are carried out with the Airbus 767-300. A total of 204 passengers can be accommodated on board the machine.
The return flight tickets in economy class cost 519 euros, flights in business class are currently available for 5122 euros.
The Balearic tourism director, Andreu Serra, rates the execution of the new flight route as extremely positive: “It helps us to address holidaymakers from many different regions.” The Mallorcan Tourism Foundation now plans to promote Mallorca in different parts of the United States, including Atlanta, Baltimore, Charlotte, Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington, New York, Boston and Miami.
Due to the new route, around 10,000 North American tourists are expected to visit the Balearic Islands in the coming year.
