United Africa Show 2023: Promoting Creative Talents and Strengthening Public-Private Partnerships

Co-create practical knowledge between entrepreneurs and businesses and strengthen public-private partnerships to promote creative talents. These are the objectives of the United Africa Show (SAU). Scheduled for November 9, 10 and 11, 2023 in Cotonou, the initiative comes from the eponymous association “Salon Afrique unie”, a network for promoting, exchanging and sharing the actors who make Africa and its diaspora.

The Cotonou edition will be the 6th but the 1st on the African continent. The first five editions took place in France. Representative of the general secretary of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI Benin), a partner structure of the SAU, Joël Vidéhouenou informs that ”the 6th edition will bring together economic operators from various backgrounds and will allow them to highlight the sector private through various partnerships for project leaders and investors in our country.

”The United Africa Show wishes to highlight the influence and dynamism of the actors who contribute to the development of Benin and Africa in general. It will be an opportunity to continue the implementation of future editions on the continent and in the Caribbean,” added the operations manager at the CCIB.

The discussions will revolve around the theme: ”Creative economies and immersive technologies: what are the challenges for Africa?”. During these three days of annual meeting, conferences, debates, masterclasses, workshops, B2B meetings, a pitch competition, job dating sessions and activities will be held.

The 6th edition of the United Africa Show features two innovations. The first, the establishment of a business center aimed at promoting business opportunities in Africa, with the support of public partners. The second particularity relates to the establishment of an employment/training space to promote employment and internship opportunities in Benin and other African countries.

”Our vision is that together, we can show this positive side of Africa, this success side, this innovation side, this business side of Africa because if we don’t do it, no one will do it. our place,” explained Irmine Gounongbé, general director of Médès Media and CEO of Salon Afrique Uni.

On the choice of Benin to host the 1st edition of the United Africa Show, Jérémie Gbegniho, member of the organizing committee, indicates that it is part of the Government Action Plan (PAG) of President Patrice Talon to job creation, development of Benin’s cultural and tourism potential, infrastructure development, access to water and energy.
