JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Prudential Life Assurance or Prudential Indonesia open voice regarding demonstrations carried out by the victim community unit link insurance on Tuesday (23/3/2022).
Prudential Indonesia’s Chief Marketing and Communications Officer Luskito Hambali said that regarding this action, his party had tried to resolve complaints from each individual in the group.
He added that settlement efforts have been made from customers submitting complaints directly to the company, until Prudential Indonesia mediates with the facilitation of the OJK 3 times.
“Prudential Indonesia is committed to solving this problem in accordance with applicable regulations,” he said in a statement, Wednesday (23/3/2022).

He further reminded that OJK and experts have also recommended groups that complain about unit-linked products to proceed with dispute resolution to the SJK LAPS.
The process was taken, considering that the internal dispute resolution process at the company has not yet reached an agreement. This has also been regulated in detail in the OJK regulations.
The arbitration process at LAPS has started since March 10, 2022, with the sending of documents to individuals who are members of the group who submit complaints related to unit links.
Luskito said that each individual was given 10 working days from the date of receipt of the document via e-mail or letter, to submit their response to Prudential Indonesia.

In addition, the costs of arbitration through the SJK LAPS will be fully borne by Prudential Indonesia, if it has passed the verification process from Prudential Indonesia and an agreement is reached between the company and the party submitting the complaint.
“We will comply with and implement all decisions from LAPS SJK because these decisions are final and legally binding on the parties,” said Luskito.
“Therefore, we hope that all parties can comply with applicable laws and regulations in dispute resolution, including using official channels in submitting complaints,” he added.
Previously, it was reported that the Insurance Victims Community held another demonstration to collect promises from the Financial Services Authority and the Indonesian House of Representatives. Meanwhile, the victim wants the two state institutions to be committed as promised to help the community.
“The demonstration that we carried out today still has the same demands. We ask for support from the OJK and the DPR,” said Prudential Insurance Victims Community Coordinator, AXA Mandiri and AIA, Maria Trihartarti, quoted from Kontan.

Maria explained that her visit to the OJK office was a form of request for this institution’s commitment by carrying out three demands.
First, the victim wants OJK to immediately help return the victims’ money from the three insurance companies.
Second, they also demand a moratorium or abolish unit links. Third, they also asked for an audience with OJK and the three insurance companies.
“We want the problems we are experiencing do not become a PR for the leadership of the OJK in the next period. This is where we want the demands and promises that have been conveyed at the Hearing Meeting at the DPR to be resolved, not to be postponed any longer,” he concluded.
