A bit of pomp – for the costumes – a bit of Madame and the cheerful key of A major give the ensemble its name. A unique, unmistakable sound combined with a fine pinch of humor make Pomp-A-Dur’s performances so impressively endearing. A top-class harmonious team of individual experts has come together here, which – in addition to the visual charms – forms a very special body of sound.
The ensemble stands for cheerful salon music. This includes the most beautiful melodies by Kreuder, Lehar, Mackeben, Raymond, Stolz, Winkler from the heyday of coffee house music, but also virtuoso character pieces, dance music and opera and operetta potpourris as well as musical melodies. The listeners melt away when the ensemble fills the salon with amorous sounds. Because when Sigrid Althoff, the “boss”, and her sisters in the Philharmonic take hold of the strings and keys, it is not only virtuoso, but also grandiose to look at and conjures up that cheerful, sentimental atmosphere that is otherwise only found in Berlin or Viennese coffee houses .

The ladies get musical support from the male side: Stefan Lex, a master of his craft, joins the class of Rudolf Schock and Fritz Wunderlich. The radiantly lyrical tenor fascinates the audience with his wonderful voice, his charm and his subtly lively and humorous moderation.
