“Unlike other songs that we take to the listener, this song is unique in that it “came” to us through the melody, with a ready-made idea and theme, also with a completely clear idea of the video,” says Gatis Irbe.
“Already from the first chords and manner of playing, it was clear – it will be about France, we will have to fly there and capture the trip on video, and after the trip, the text of the song will be written about the experience. Thanks Tom and Sandy for this adventure!”
A sketch of the first idea for the song came from a songwriting session in Finland, where Gattis and teammate Kaspars Jansson participated along with several Finnish writers and producers.
The song’s video was filmed in Paris, the most observant video viewers will be able to find one location from Latvia, right here in Liepāja, which visually very much resembles the romance of Paris. “Thanks to Mikus Fomin and “Cafe Antikvariāts” in Liepāja for the hospitality, where we could feel the atmosphere of Paris again.”
On August 19, Mežapark’s Great Stage will host a grand concert of the music projects Mesa and GACHO, which will mark the 25-year work of the musician Gat Irbe on the stage.
