Floating through the night and towards the stars with the cable car once a year is something very special. On Saturday, July 15, the Schauinslandbahn runs continuously from 9 a.m. to midnight.
The café restaurant “Die Bergstation” offers summer delicacies and is open from 10 a.m. to 9.30 p.m. (kitchen until 9 p.m.), the gastro hut in the outdoor area until 10.30 p.m. At the mountain station, when the weather is good, cable car guests can enjoy a fine drop from the Schweizer winery in Ihringen at the wine and sparkling wine stand or get in the mood for the ascent with a secco. The historical Soundtruck Hercules provides background music from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
You can find out a lot of interesting facts about the world’s first circulating cable car on the technical tours at 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the mountain station. Duration approx. 45 minutes.
The guided tour costs € 5 per person (minimum age 12 years)

There are fascinating guided tours at ground level in the Schauinsland mine museum. All participants will be equipped with an electric miner’s lamp and a protective helmet. These tours are suitable for families. Meeting point is at the mine entrance.

The sunset tour with Natourpur:
The tour takes you along the Schauinsland Höhenweg to Stohren, past wonderful vantage points in the direction of Feldberg, Belchen, the Rhine Valley and the Vosges. Due to the many scenic impressions, the sunset on the Schauinsland is always a unique experience. The local hiking guide knows a lot to tell about the area. Equipment: Weatherproof clothing, photo, headlamp if available or flashlight.
Meeting point is at 7.30 p.m. at the mountain station.

Sternfreunde Breisgau eV:
Under the motto “Get closer to the stars – immerse yourself in the fascinating world of astronomy”, the Sternfreunde Breisgau are offering free guided tours and presentations of the telescopes in the observatory on the Schauinsland that night. As soon as the night permits, those interested will have the opportunity to take a look at the odd galaxy, globular cluster and nebula. It will also be possible to look over the shoulder of the astrophotographer.

Arriving in an environmentally friendly way by public transport:
The last return trip from the valley station with bus line 21 in the direction of Dorfstraße is at 0.30 a.m. with a connection to the city railway.
