Over the past few months, the woman has been in hospital with cough, fever and persistent thick mucus for six months. A few weeks before she went to the hospital, she had been prescribed antibiotics and anti-tuberculosis treatments, but it had not caused any improvement. And then the truth was discovered: the girl had ingested a condom during sexual intercourse and, perhaps out of shame, she did not say anything to the doctors.
The woman – after having tested negative for tuberculosis – was subjected to a chest X-ray and the doctors faced a lesion in the right upper lobe of the lungs. A similar structure, according to what the doctors specify, to an “inverted bag”. The woman was then operated on: the object was removed and then analyzed. The woman will likely need to undergo further bronchoscopy to remove the fragments of the object.
