JAKARTA – Para spiritual experience astronaut in outer space is unique and mysterious. Interestingly, this experience is always experienced by astronauts while in space.
Nighal Guessoum from Arab News said that the spiritual experience is not only owned by astronauts who are Muslim. Astronauts from other religions also experienced the same thing.
“This is not limited to those who have traveled to the moon, but rather extends to the many astronauts who have spent some time in space, especially on the International Space Station. This is also experienced by astronauts of various faiths of Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, and possibly others, ‘ wrote Nighal Guessoum.
Take for example the spiritual experience of John Glenn, America’s first astronaut to reach earth orbit. He admits that while in space he gains confidence. While in space almost every day he kept praying.
“Looking at the existing creation and not believing in the existence of God in my opinion it is impossible. Being up there actually makes my belief increase,” explained John Glenn.

Almost the same experience was felt by the three Apollo 8 astronauts, William Anders, Jim Lovell and Frank Borman. The trio arrived in space on December 24, 1968.
During a live broadcast that can be watched from earth, the three of them even read the first verse of the Bible because they were amazed to see the earth and outer space. The three admitted that they really felt the immense power when they saw the universe.
The three Apollo 11 astronauts who managed to shake the world by reaching the moon, Neil Armstrong, Edwin Aldrin and Michael Collins had the same spiritual experience. Even when Edwin Aldrin set foot on the moon, he invited people on earth who saw their live broadcast to pray together. “I’d like to ask for a moment of silence. I invite everyone who’s listening, wherever and whoever they are, to pause and reflect on the events of the last few hours (the incredible landing), and give thanks in their own way,” he said. Edwin Aldrin while giving the sign of the cross.
