UNIQLO Promotes Daisuke Tsukagoshi to President and COO: Strengthening the Next-Generation Team Management System

UNIQLO announced on September 1 that Daisuke Tsukagoshi, currently CEO of the global business, will be promoted to President and COO. Tadashi Yanai, currently chairman and president of UNIQLO, will continue to lead management decision-making and business expansion for UNIQLO and the entire group as chairman and CEO.

The new president, Tsukakoshi, was born in 1978 and is currently 44 years old. He joined FAST RETAILING in 2002 and has experience as store manager of domestic stores and general manager of the in-house training department. In 2015, he became an executive officer of the Fast Retailing Group, gaining experience in the United States and China. Since 2019, he has been Group Senior Executive Officer.

This personnel change is “part of strengthening the next-generation team management system” (from the announcement material), and “we will build a next-generation management team together with the managers of each country and region more than ever, and the group will be united by cooperating with each department. The aim is to accelerate the creation of an all-hands management system and improve the quality of management.
