Noah Sadiki has become a very important player for the Union. Since the start of the season, the midfielder has already played no less than 29 matches (1 assist). The former Anderlecht player was also able to gain a good dose of experience by playing eight Europa League matches.
Only 19 years old, the native of Brussels can still choose the nation he will represent in the future. But his choice seems already made. Indeed, Sadiki declared that he wanted to play for Congo in the future and closed the door to the Red Devils, even though he played in the Belgian youth team.
“My first choice was always Congo,” he said in the “La D1” podcast. “It’s a country that has often been denigrated by the people around us, even by our own parents who tell us not to go there because there is this or that thing happening there. We don’t do it. step forward to change things, and that disappoints me.”
Sadiki’s parents didn’t really want their son to play for Congo: “A lot of people were against it, even my parents were reluctant. But I wanted to go and see it with my own eyes because I want to help. My first choice focuses on the Congo.”
Duel against his former team
This Thursday evening, Sadiki should start against Anderlecht in the quarter-final of the Belgian Cup. A match that will inevitably be special for him.
