Mexico City. The leader of the National Union of Workers of the Federal Judicial Branch (SNTPJF), Jesús Gilberto González Pimentel, denied that with the entry into force of the reform to the Judicial Branch of the Federation (PJF), the rank-and-file workers will suffer salary losses of more than 40 percent and their benefits are guaranteed; he also pointed out that in no way does the extinction of the PJF trusts —with more than 20 billion pesos— affect the workers or their pensions and complementary medical benefits.
Through a press release issued yesterday after the working meeting held by him and other representatives of various organizations with the members of the Plenary of the Federal Judicial Council (CJF), eggs were thrown at them by those who were demonstrating outside the headquarters of that PJF body.
During the meeting with the Judicial Councillors, González Pimentel stated that “I stated that a table has been circulating on social media for a few days now that establishes a salary reduction of up to 40 percent; however, I clarified that this information is false, since the benefits of the working base are guaranteed in the Tenth Transitory Provision of the constitutional reform published in the Official Journal of the Federation on September 15, in relation to the General Working Conditions in force and signed by the CJF and myself as general secretary of the union group that I preside.”
The SNTPJF leader participated in the working group in which the CJF decided to maintain the suspension of work in all courts and tribunals of the country until October 2, with the vote of four counselors: Minister Norma Lucía Piña Hernández, Lilia Mónica López Benítez, Sergio Javier Molina Martínez and José Alfonso Montalvo Martínez, and the votes against of counselors Eva Verónica de Gyvés Zárate and Celia Maya García.
Guaranteed wages and benefits
The leader pointed out that during the working table he clarified that “despite the extinction of the PJF trusts, the Individualized Separation Insurance (SEGSEI), the Individualized Retirement Fund (FORI), nor the Major Medical Expenses Insurance are in no way affected, since the aforementioned Tenth Transitory Provision of the constitutional reform that occurred in recent days, established that the expenditure budget for the corresponding fiscal year will consider the necessary resources for the payment, among others, the labor obligations established by the laws or the applicable General Working Conditions, including the payment of the aforementioned benefits.”
He assured that “in the same way, in said reform, the complementary pensions and the complementary medical benefits are protected, this even in accordance with Article 25 of the General Working Conditions of the Public Servants in charge of the CJF, as well as the diverse 20 of the regulations relative to the public servants in charge of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, which establishes that the perceptions cannot be reduced.”
He called on his members “not to be manipulated by false statements made on different electronic communication platforms; misinformation that people have circulated without taking into account what this leadership has carried out and that has been duly expressed to them, since the group that I am honored to lead is the only one that made legislative proposals in a timely manner.”
At the end of the working table with the members of the CJF, he said, when he intended to talk with the protesters “in order to dispel concerns about the misinformation that has been circulating on different social networks; however, this was not possible since I was physically and verbally attacked.”
