After Schalke 04 and a series of English second division teams, Union also has an eye on Thibaud Verlinden. Beerschot’s dribbling winger recently saw the option included in his expiring contract. As a result, he is still under contract until mid-2025, but he is being heavily courted.

With five goals and ten assists, he was one of the most productive players in the Challenger Pro League. Schalke 04, Queens Park Rangers and a number of other English second division teams have been angling for the services of Verlinden in recent weeks. Union has also recently been added. There might even already be a concrete proposal on the table.
Beerschot took over Verlinden two years ago on a free transfer from Slovakian Dunajska Streda. Previously, the son of former goalkeeper Dany Verlinden played for Fortuna Sittard, Stoke City, Bolton and St-Pauli.
He resigned in January this year Gazette of Antwerp still understood that he wanted to play football with Beerschot in 1A. “I have never played in the Belgian first division, and this year I will be 25, so that has to happen.
