Union Health Ministry is closely monitoring outbreak of H9N2 cases and clusters of respiratory illne

New Delhi: The central government has been monitoring cases of H9N2 virus and flu with symptoms similar to pneumonia spreading in China. They are less likely to spread in India. However, the Union Health Ministry said that the country is ready to face any emergency situation.

The H9N2 virus causes bird flu. In northern China, an infectious disease with pneumonia-like symptoms is spreading among children. The World Health Organization has confirmed this. In this context, the situation was assessed under the leadership of the Chairman of the Directorate General of Health Services. The meeting assessed the country’s preparations in the context of the spread of both diseases in China.

The World Health Organization has assessed that the risk of human-to-human transmission of bird flu is low. However, the meeting put forth the need to strengthen surveillance in humans and domestic animals.

Last day, there were reports of the spread of infectious fever in northern China. This has been confirmed by the World Health Organization. Children are the most affected by respiratory diseases. Symptoms are similar to pneumonia. Reports say that no new pathogen has been found. But the country is ready to face any emergency. The Center also informed that the basic facilities in the health sector have improved a lot since the Covid pandemic.
