Unilever’s Performance Has Not Recovered, Q3 Profits Still Drop 19%

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Issuer of consumer goods, PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk (UNVR), posted a net profit for the first 9 months of this year of Rp 4.37 trillion.

The revenue was recorded to have decreased by 19.31% from the same period the previous year of Rp 5.43 trillion. This decline caused UNVR’s basic earnings per share to decline to Rp 115 per share from last September’s Rp 143 per share.

In January to September 2021, the company recorded net sales of IDR 30.02 trillion, down 7.47 percent from the previous year of IDR 32.45 trillion.

In detail, domestic sales contributed Rp 19.23 trillion in revenue, lower than the previous year’s Rp 22.09 trillion. Meanwhile, export sales as of September 2021 were recorded at Rp 819.46 billion from last year’s Rp 955.79 billion.

The company noted that the cost of goods sold as of September 2021 fell to Rp. 14.93 trillion from the previous Rp. 15.58 trillion. Thus, UNVR’s gross profit was Rp 15.09 trillion, still lower than last year’s Rp 16.87 trillion.

UNVR also noted a decrease in marketing and sales expenses to Rp 6.26 trillion and general administrative expenses Rp 3.01 trillion. So that UNVR’s operating profit will be Rp 5.81 trillion in the third quarter of this year.

As of September 30, 2021, Unilever Indonesia’s total assets reached Rp 20.21 trillion, slightly down from the position on December 31, 2020 of Rp 20.53 trillion.

The total assets consist of liabilities of Rp. 14.88 trillion and equity of Rp. 5.32 trillion.
