Unilever Uruguay implements 4-day working week – Business – 10/27/2022

The consumer products company implements a four-day work week for its employees once a month. With this announcement, Unilever Uruguay, together with Argentina and Paraguay, becomes the company’s first subsidiary in Latin America to launch this initiative for the benefit of over 1,200 people.

“At Unilever, we are constantly working to create a better experience for the people who work with us, looking for an ever more flexible and impactful culture. In this sense, the concept of FlexYVida was born: a new way of experiencing work ”, said Gianella D’Angelo, HR Lead Unilever Uruguay.

This mass consumer initiative is another step in the flexible culture it has been building for over 10 years. “We know that there are as many lives as there are ways of experiencing work, which is why we try to generate the context so that everyone can experience work in its best version with an agile and flexible model that offers greater well-being to our teams” D’Angelo said.

To this experience, of working 4 days once a month, are added other tools that the company already makes available to accompany the collaborator’s experience, such as: zero-interest loan, week off between Christmas and New Year and an amount additional so that each equips your home to work in a hybrid way.

Unilever already had other benefits much appreciated by those who work there, such as flexible Fridays, days off for birthdays, extended leave for fathers and mothers, a hybrid work model, an assisted reproduction program, U Journey. , a benefit that provides the possibility that a collaborator can work remotely (up to 3 months) from abroad, in order to make it compatible, among others, with their personal projects.
