According to the councilor of United We Can Sant Antoni Angie Roselló this Saturday through a statement, this motion would provide a “great opportunity” to face the current pandemic situation since it encourages sports practice and the acquisition of healthy habits, to at the same time a safe leisure option is given to the neighbors.
Roselló stressed that these aspects “were already very necessary” before the coronavirus and are now becoming more important because the saturation of hospitals requires greater awareness about health care. In addition, he continued, the need to go to medical centers for minor causes would be avoided since “sport helps preserve health.”
Unidos Podemos has insisted on its request that the Sant Antoni City Council “lead and design” a sports plan that meets all the needs of citizens and is organized with a series of recommendations and guidelines that allow the practice of safe sports activities and with ensuring that all sanitary restrictions are met.
Roselló has stated that this agreement would have to include aspects such as the specification of outdoor activities and that in no case are they contact, in addition to claiming “a commitment that this program lasts over time.”
