“Unidentified Missile Object Discovered in Polish Forest”

The military object was discovered in a forest near Bydgoszcz at the end of April and its origin remains a mystery

National Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said on Thursday that the operational commander did not inform him about an unidentified object that entered Polish airspace, the Polish news agency PAP reported, citing BTA.

The military object was discovered in a forest near Bydgoszcz (Northern Poland) at the end of April and its origin remains a mystery, although there are suspicions that it could be a foreign missile.

Blaszczak told the press conference details about the investigation of this case at the Main Command of the Armed Forces (RSZ/GKVS).

“It was established that on December 16, the Air Operations Center subordinate to the operational commander received information from the Ukrainian side about an object approaching Polish airspace, which may be a missile,” he said.

“According to the findings of the inspection, the operational commander did not fulfill his duties by not informing me about the object that appeared in the Polish airspace, nor did he inform the Government Security Center and other services related to the procedures,” Blaszczak added.

Blaszczak emphasized that the Air Operations Center immediately established contact with the Ukrainian and American sides.

“Allied cooperation procedures were properly launched. Combat readiness was increased and Polish and American aircraft were raised. The object was registered by Polish ground radar stations. The results of the inspection clearly show that the operations of the Air Operations Center were carried out correctly,” said Blaschak.

He also said that the Air Operations Center informed his commander “about an unidentified object that appeared in Polish airspace.”
