UNUSUAL – “There is no fall in New Mexico without a rainbow of balloons.” Since 1972 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the “Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta” has been held in October. Last year, due to the health crisis, the event that brings together hot air balloon fans had to be cancelled. A new edition has been scheduled from October 2 to 10, 2021 for your greatest happiness, as you can see in the video above.
Every day, between 6 am and 8 pm, the sky of this American state sees hundreds of balloons take off. More than 500 hot air balloons participate this year in this meeting. as specified the organization’s website, the pilots come from 671 places around the world. 900,000 spectators are expected during the 10 days of the festival.
“Any local will tell you that October is the most beautiful time of year in New Mexico, thanks in no small part to the long-awaited sight of colorful balloons dotting the horizon,” praise organizers. “Right now, the skies are bluer, the days are milder, and the mornings are cooler, as if the landscape has breathed a deep sigh.”
Every day shows and challenges are organized to attract the general public. Tickets are around $60 to attend, depending on where you sit to watch the show. Spaces are limited.
