The total of 141 apartments with more than ten thousand square meters of living space are divided into a good mix of one to five room apartments and are also subsidized by cooperatives or publicly according to the state housing promotion program.
In addition, 28 service apartments cover local services and care for the 60+ target group. An attractive mobility concept enables climate-friendly living.
The attractive commercial offer on the ground floor includes a day care center, a day and night care facility as well as a bakery with a café.
The entire residential complex was built in accordance with the ecologically sensible KfW efficiency house 55 standard and impresses with a central heating supply including tenant electricity model.
Around 36 million euros were invested in the Uni-Carré
At the ceremonial installation of the plaque, Florian Kraft, architect, explains the urban planning concept to numerous guests.
The two board members Marc Ullrich and Jörg Straub emphasize the diversity of the project: “With the Uni-Carré we can meet every living need, the clever floor plans offer living for household starters as well as for families; seniors and couples. We are pleased that the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Architects has recognized this with the “Exemplary Building” seal of quality”.
Since the year 2000, the cooperative has invested half a billion euros in the modernization of the existing building and the construction of over 800 new apartments for the people in the region. Most of the financing came from the in-house savings scheme. The project was also nominated for the German Builder Award.
