The Minister of National Education, Literacy, Vocational Education and the Promotion of National Languages, Dr Elisabeth Sherif, received yesterday morning a batch of educational materials offered by UNFPA. Through this donation, UNFPA aims to accompany and support the efforts of students in learning.
This lot is made up of 37 computers, 37 video projectors, 37 multifunctional photocopiers, 37 inverters, for the benefit of 35 secondary schools, all for a total cost of 62 million FCFA. Upon receiving this donation, Ms. Elizabeth Sherif, on behalf of the highest authorities, thanked UNFPA for this support for the benefit of educational establishments. “The Head of State and the transitional government make education a priority. This priority is part of respect for sovereignty and cultural values,” she explained. Furthermore, Dr Elisabeth Shérif assured that this support will be used wisely.
For his part, the resident representative of UNFPA in Niger, Mr. Saidou Kaboré, indicated that this donation follows a request launched by the Ministry of Education as part of support for students. “This support will allow students to have the necessary equipment for their learning,” declared Mr. Saidou Kaboré.
