7 major art installations spread across Tsuen Wan
This year, “#ddHK Design#香港地” will hold the latest activity with the theme of “Art Tour Unfinished·Tsuen Wan” from August 18th to September 14th, inviting 7 groups of international and local famous creative units to participate, creating 7 Art installations were set up and exhibited in multiple public spaces in Tsuen Wan, connecting them into a walking tour route; among them, the 15-meter-high giant whale in Tsuen Wan Park is the most eye-catching. Spraying water through the air holes, together with the playful and funny “Ocean Friend” figure sculptures around it, has become a must-see spot this summer; there are also colorful fabric flyovers “Woven and Weaving”, and the giant mural at the bottom of the Haisheng Garden flyover “Tsuen Wan Landscape “, the super colorful landscape art installation “Colorful Linglong”, etc., it is like stepping into a colorful world!
Seven limited-time art installations
“Ocean Friends” Andy Rementer specially takes “Ocean” as the theme, and transforms Tsuen Wan Park into a large sculpture park. Among them, the 15-meter-long giant whale that sprays water through the blowhole from time to time is the most eye-catching.
“Colorful Edges” was designed by the internationally renowned design duo Craig & Karl, injecting the diverse characteristics of Tsuen Wan into the Xiloujiao Garden to create a landscaping art installation with dreamy colors.
“Weaving and Weaving” The footbridge of Tai Ho Road in Tsuen Wan is decorated with Masaru Suzuki’s fabric design. The exquisite tapestry is colorful and pays tribute to Tsuen Wan’s history as a textile center.
The “Tsuen Wan Landscape” series located in Ocean Shing Gardens consists of three giant murals, “Smoky Mountain”, “Rain Stream” and “River of Light”. The paintings are drawn by computer and incorporate the characteristics of traditional Chinese painting.
Located at Tsuen Wan Town Hall Plaza, “Return to Home Enterprise” is composed of Kila Cheung’s key sculpture “”Home” No.9——Taste of The Lost Memory Home” and the “Little Lantern Man” “Twinkle Twinkle Little Square” all around. Item composition.
“Silver Age” Katol Lo expounds the rich cultural history and traditions of Tsuen Wan through font design, street art and other visual elements, and arranges the footbridge of Tai Chung Road into an artistic timeline.
The work “Treading and Swinging Gas Collection Station” is located on the waterfront of Tsuen Wan, adjacent to the cycle track network in the New Territories. Participants can activate the bicycle-connecting device to inflate the colorful balloons floating in the air.
