“Sultan of Tarab” George Wassouf died at dawn on Saturday. With the death of his son Wadih, following the repercussions of gastric sleeve surgeryWhere it should have been minor surgery, except that “the winds come with what ships do not desire”, and the surgery caused the death of young Wadih, which his grieving father described as “a tear of the eye, and a beloved of the heart within.”
The news of the death came hours after the family announced that the deceased young man had been transferred to a hospital in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, in critical condition. After sleeve gastrectomy which he had for over a week.
Although the operation was declared a success at the time, Wadih suffered internal bleeding which took his life.
Social media erupted in grief following the announcement of the death, and a slew of late celebs have complained.

Interestingly, the last appearances of the Syrian artist, George Wassouf, were on the occasion of New Year’s Eve, when the owner of “My Soul, Nesma” gave a great concert called Trio Night, together with many stars of the music of the Arab world, as part of Riyadh’s entertainment season activities.
