The event had the participation of the National Dominican Children’s Choir and the Dominican Schola Cantorum directed by maestro Ángel Herdz and was held in the Auditorium of the El Calvario Temple in the National District.
The National Evangelical University (UNEV) through its Deanship of Extension and Research Department, organized the first Music-choral Program, a project through which the academy seeks to create the first national choral group and promote the Gospel through choral music, seeking to integrate children and young people from the country’s Christian churches.
Prior to the presentation, the teacher Ángel Herdz spoke, who explained in broad terms the objectives of the creation of the group that will integrate some 100 people between the ages of 12 and 40.
He also said that it will be developed in stages that will begin with training classes for those interested on musical reading, uses and types of instruments, information on caring for the body and having a healthy life, and enriching the university curriculum through academic and economic stimulation. to UNEV students who wish to participate.

The rector of the academy, Juan Guerrero Ávila, spoke at the activity, who said that one of the things he proposed when he arrived at the rectory was that the academy should have a choral group. “A confessional university like us, we are an evangelical Christian university, and evangelicals, Christians have always depended on worship music and it is a blessing for us to do this,” Guerrero Ávila added.
The event brought together the main ecclesial leaders of the national evangelical sector, Christian social service institutions, rectors of Higher Education Institutions, (IES) professors and employees of UNEV, and sectors related to culture and the arts.
The Office of the Vice President for Outreach and Liaison invited all employees and their families, and interested persons to participate in the auditions of the UNEV choral program.
