Question from Ms. BROSSEL Colombe (Paris – SER) published on 10/10/2024
Ms. Colombe Brossel draws the attention of the Minister of National Education to the inequality of treatment by the State between public education and private education under contract in Paris, in favor of the latter. While private education is today largely financed by public funds (representing three quarters of funding), opacity remains regarding the resources allocated, but also the actual numbers, as well as the number of classes and teachers that he represents in Paris. Added to this is the lack of control to which it has been subject until now, contrary to the legal obligations for the State. Inequalities between public and private education continue to increase, based on a distribution of resources “which does not sufficiently take into account the difficulties of the students admitted” according to the report of the Court of Auditors of June 2023. These inequalities are still found reinforced by the reality resulting from the last school year. In Paris, when it comes to public education, there are 127 fewer classes in 1st level. At the same time, Parisian private education is experiencing a deregulation of only around fifty classes. Also, given this unequal distribution of resources and the opacity which remains regarding the resources allocated to Parisian private education, she questions it regarding the actual numbers to date, as well as the forecasts for the 2025 school year. /2026 in private education, the number of classes and the resources allocated. She also asks what she intends to do to combat the inequalities in the distribution of resources between public and private education noted by all Parisian stakeholders.
