Undocumented Immigrants in Construction: Facing the Consequences of New Immigration Policies

The government will soon present its highly anticipated and closely scrutinized immigration bill. In this sense, the Quotidien teams went as close as possible to undocumented people, who are the first to be affected by the next measures. Many undocumented immigrants, mainly from West Africa, get up early in the morning to offer their help to artisans or the construction sector. Despite sometimes having no particular qualifications, their help seems quite in demand. One of them, Abdoulaye, aged 49, from Senegal, is regularly hired as a worker on construction sites, obviously without any social security coverage.
