Undocumented crossings through Texas have decreased by 85% thanks to operations: Abbott

The number of undocumented immigrants crossing into Texas has decreased by 85%, according to Governor Greg Abbott, thanks to the historic border security efforts implemented in the state.

While other border states have seen an increase in illegal crossings, Texas has seen a significant reduction.

According to recent Border Patrol figures, 1,650 people were apprehended in the Del Rio Sector attempting to enter the country illegally in one week, which represents an average of 235 people per day.

This figure contrasts sharply with the most critical moments of the migration crisis, when up to 3,000 people crossed through Eagle Pass in a single day.

Governor Abbott highlighted that Texas is tripling barbed wire barriers along the border as part of measures to curb illegal immigration.

In Eagle Pass, state troopers continue to put up barbed wire fences, and patrolmen maintain surveillance operations, arresting undocumented immigrants crossing on private property.
