Undip Specialist Doctor Program Student Dies in Residence, Suspected of Murder

A 30-year-old specialist medical student at Diponegoro University (Undip) was found dead in her living room, suspected of suicide. Police said the victim died after ingesting a sedative into his own body.

Gajahmungkur Police Chief, Commissioner Agus Hartono, said his party visited the site of the residence in Lempongsari Town, Semarang on Monday (12/8) at 23.00 WIB. He was found dead with a blue face and lying on his side as if asleep.

“His face was a little blue with his thighs, like someone was sleeping,” he said when contacted, Wednesday (14/8/2024).

And he said the report started with suspicion because his girlfriend had not been able to contact the victim since morning. At that time, the victim’s boardroom was locked from the inside and the victim’s co-workers believed that the person involved was not in the room.

“In the morning at 7 or 8 o’clock, his girlfriend called, he didn’t pick up the phone even though he called. So he asked his friend for help. Why did his friend make sure it was closed, maybe the table. house in Tembalang, it was empty. Finally he went back there and found her dead,” he explained.

The police also called a doctor and it was found that the victim had died due to the sedative. The sedative was said to have been injected into his body by the victim himself.

“Medications for muscle relaxation. I can’t say what the doctor can say, but the medicine should be through infusion,” he said.

It is known that the victim is currently studying for a Doctor of Special (PPDS) in the Anesthesia Study Program at Undip. Police said the victim had been staying in a boarding house in Lempongsari for about a year.

And he said his party also found the victim’s diary in the living room. In the diary, the person involved talked about the hardships of being a medical student and discussed issues with the elderly.

It is also said that the victim’s parents came to the spot immediately after getting the news. And the family immediately asked him to take the victim home without an autopsy.

“His mother realized that she had asked to be taken to Kariadi (RSUP dr Kariadi Semarang) without an autopsy and was immediately taken to Tegal,” he concluded.

The order to end FK Undip’s anesthesia research program was issued by the Director General of Health Services, Dr. Azhar Jaya, through a letter to the Chief Director of RSUP, Dr. Kariadi.

“Regarding the allegations of bullying in Diponegoro University’s Anesthesia Study Program at Dr. Kariadi’s SUP, which led to the suicide of one of Diponegoro University’s anesthesia study program students,” wrote Dr. Azhar in the letter dated August 14, 2024.

“Therefore you are advised to temporarily suspend the anesthesia research program at Dr Kariadi Hospital until an investigation and measures can be taken which can be reported by the Board of Directors of Kariadi Hospital and FK UNDIP,” he continued .
