From time to time, especially on pure electric vehicle servers, in addition to sensationalism about battery-powered cars, you can also read some (un)useful information regarding legislation or, for example, subsidies.
And when subsidies for electric cars for entrepreneurs came to the Czech Republic as well, they were written about everywhere, but not entirely truthfully everywhere. Few people have read the conditions of the “Electromobility Guarantee – Challenge I” challenge, and even fewer people have understood them. So it is not surprising that it started to appear on the Internet that you can buy a personal Dacia Spring for 120,000 CZK! But it’s disinformation, it doesn’t work like that.
The subsidy program really supports the purchase of vehicles from abroad, so if you take advantage of the fact that you buy a new Dacia Sping on sale for 13,500 euros without VAT at a German dealer where subsidies for electric cars have ended, you can actually bring it to the Czech Republic and apply for a subsidy .
So you suddenly have a personal electric car for approximately CZK 320,000 without VAT, for which you can get a subsidy of CZK 200,000? So then the vehicle costs 120,000 CZK without VAT! No way, it doesn’t work like that.
The subsidy is conditional on a loan of a minimum amount of CZK 300,000, which you must repay for at least 12 months, with the down payment and interest set by each financial institution itself. Early repayment (earlier than a year) is not possible, and you must use the loan in its entirety.

You will receive a subsidy for Spring, but…
This means that if you bring a Dacia Spring to the Czech Republic for CZK 320,000 without VAT, you will receive a subsidy of only CZK 20,000, so the car will cost you CZK 300,000 without VAT and not CZK 120,000 without VAT , as some claim. So buying a sale Spring is not worth it, in that case it makes sense to go for an electric car, which you can buy for 500,000 CZK without VAT.
Then you will receive the full subsidy (CZK 200,000), you will borrow the same money (CZK 300,000), but you will have a much better car than the Dacia Spring.
So if we look in Germany at other electric cars that meet the conditions for the subsidy (registration less than 6 months, mileage less than 6 thousand km), you can buy a Fiat 500e, Renault Twingo electric, Mazda MX-30, Opel for 500,000 CZK without VAT Corsu-e, MG 4, Volkswagen e-Up!, Smart ForTwo EQ, Nissan Leaf, Hyundai Konu or even Peugeot e-208.
So if you are disappointed, we are sorry, but the subsidy program has such conditions. It is then clear that someone would possibly misuse the fully subsidized springs bought for 120,000 CZK without VAT for further rental or resale. And in order for someone to make an extra profitable business, there are really no subsidies for electric cars.
