Some believe that eating eggs, specifically the yolk, increases harmful cholesterol levels in the body, because it contains a high percentage of cholesterol.

The official website of the American Heart Association published a detailed report on the effect of eggs on cholesterol and how many eggs can be eaten per day, as follows:

Are eggs healthy?
Eggs are a complete, nutritious meal, as they are a good source of protein, and contain other nutrients such as carotenoids, vitamin D, vitamin B12, selenium, and choline.
But when eating eggs, it is important to take good care of the foods that are eaten alongside them, such as white bread, butter, salt or processed meats, because these things are not good for heart health.
How many eggs can be eaten per week?
The American Heart Association confirmed that people at risk of heart disease can eat up to 6 eggs per week as part of a heart-healthy diet, while healthy people can eat eggs within a balanced diet. But there are changes that seem more important than reducing eggs, and that you should focus on to lower cholesterol and maintain a healthy heart, such as increasing the intake of vegetables, fruits, and whole foods, avoiding processed foods, and reducing the intake of saturated fats.
Much confusion has arisen that egg yolks are high in cholesterol and are a major source of dietary cholesterol, but that saturated fatty acids have a greater effect on blood cholesterol levels, thus reducing the risk of heart disease.
