Apple says that if a small red circle appears on your phone screen, it means you’re recording, a feature that enables users to share content from their screens to others.
Some Apple users didn’t know about this, as someone asked on social media “reddit”, What works on my phone? I don’t recognize that red circle on my screen, “You’re recording the screen,” another explained.
And according to the British newspaper “Daily Mail”, when iPhone users receive their devices for the first time, they are given 5 GB of free storage space automatically.
In many cases, if this runs out, customers will be looking to pay an additional monthly fee to top it up, as the tech giant offers plans from 50GB to 2TB.
And Apple provided a step-by-step guide on how to stop recordings before they take up too much storage space and a way to delete them.
If it appears on your screen, the first step is to go to the setting to turn it off.
Once there, users have to go to the control center and tap the circle-shaped recording button, to turn it off, tap the red circle button and it will appear white.
Also, to ensure that the video recording does not take up storage space, users can go to their Photos app and delete the recording as easily as any video or photo.
The feature has been used by social media users in many different ways, including recording their screens to share news stories, funny videos, and in some cases text messages.
