All stars form in the same way: a cloud of gas collapses and initiates the fusion that provides the star with its energy. When the fuel runs out, the star goes out.
But that’s where the similarities end, because the lifespan of stars depends on their size.
The smallest die out after billions or trillions of years, but the largest stars live briefly and die in gigantic supernova explosions.
