A heat wave that the country is exposed to during these days, which is considered the first heat wave in the summer of 2023, at a time when the General Authority of Meteorology warned that the country would be exposed to a noticeable rise in temperatures in all parts.

During these days, the country is dominated by a very hot, humid atmosphere in most parts. The perceived temperatures reach 40 degrees in Cairo and 45 degrees in the south of the country, with noticeable rises in humidity levels that increase the feeling of discomfort and the feeling of more temperature rises.

What is the secret of the heat wave that the country is witnessing these days? When will this wave end? And what should we get excited about in order to overcome it and protect ourselves from exposure to heat stress? This is what we will answer in the following lines.

cause of the heat wave

At first revealed Meteorological AuthorityThe cause of the heat wave is due to the control of the air rise in the upper layers of the atmosphere, where the air rise acts as an umbrella as it compresses the air column and traps all of the moisture, suspended impurities, dust and smoke present in the atmosphere in layers close to the surface of the earth, so we feel uncomfortable and that the atmosphere is stressful, especially in the breathing process. .

The Meteorological Authority indicated that this is accompanied by an increase in the periods of sunshine, which helps to raise temperatures.

The end of the heat wave

As for the date of the end of the heat wave, Manar Ghanem, a member of the Media Center of the General Meteorological Authority, revealed the details of the heat wave that the country is witnessing these days, pointing out that the weather continues to be very hot until the end of the week.

A member of the media center of the Meteorological Authority, in exclusive statements for the seventh day, indicated that the average maximum temperatures over Cairo range between 37-38 degrees, with very hot weather prevailing in all parts.

And she continued: The rise continues for the end of this week due to our impact on the seasonal India depression and air masses coming from the Mediterranean Sea laden with large amounts of water vapor that raise the humidity levels.

Important tips for citizens

And about what must be done to confront this atmosphere, the General Authority of Meteorology directed a number of important advice to citizens, foremost of which is the need to drink plenty of water and natural juices during the day, especially, and not to be exposed directly to sunlight.

The Meteorological Authority also called on citizens to wear a head covering or an umbrella when exposed to sunlight, to be in well-ventilated places during the day, to wear light-colored cotton and loose clothes, and not to leave any flammable materials inside cars.

And the Meteorological Authority expects that tomorrow, Monday, the rise in temperatures will continue, so that moderate weather will prevail in the early morning in all parts, very hot and humid during the day on Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northeastern coasts, South Sinai and South Upper Egypt, and hot on the northwestern coasts. Mild, humid at night throughout.

The Meteorological Authority also expects that tomorrow will witness wind activity in some limited areas, with the continuation of high levels of humidity, and mist in the morning on some roads leading to and from Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northern coasts, the Canal cities, and central Sinai.

As for the temperatures, tomorrow, Monday: Cairo will have a high of 38 degrees, a high of 40 degrees, and a low of 26 degrees, Alexandria with a high of 33 and a low of 25 degrees, Matrouh with a high of 32 degrees and a low of 22 degrees, and a high of 42 degrees and a low of 27 degrees, Qena with a high of 44 and a low of 28 degrees, and Aswan. The high is 44 degrees and the low is 30 degrees.

It is noteworthy that the summer solstice this year, 2023 AD, occurred at (5:59) pm, Cairo Summer Time, on Wednesday, June 21, and the length of the summer season this year is 93 days, 13 hours, and 52 minutes.

The sun rotates in an apparent orbit relative to the stars of the celestial background that appear fixed in the sky, and this orbit is known as the zodiacal circle, and the plane of the zodiacal circle is inclined with the plane of the celestial equator at an angle of 23 degrees and 27 minutes, which is the same angle with which the axis of rotation of the globe is inclined from the vertical. At the level of its orbit, and as a result of the Earth’s rotation around the sun and the inclination of its axis on the plane of its orbit at this angle, the four seasons occur.
