“Understanding the First Signs of Diabetes: Expert Insights from Professor Hossam Mowafi”

Dr. Hossam Mowafi, Professor of Critical Cases at Kasr Al-Ainy Faculty of Medicine, revealed the first signs of diabetes, explaining that sugar in urine is the first symptom of diabetes, and if sugar is higher than normal, the kidneys filter excess sugar levels and excrete them with urine.

Mowafi added, during his presentation of the “My Lord, Increase Me Knowledge” program, broadcast on Sada Al-Balad channel, that measuring blood sugar is very important, and it must be done once every 6 months to know the levels of sugar in the blood, in addition to conducting kidney functions to ensure its safety.

Professor of Critical Care Medicine at Kasr Al-Ainy explained that eating and exercising are very important for diabetics, and if no result is reached, it is necessary to go to treatment and take medications.
