Dr. Hossam Mowafy, Professor of Critical Situations at Kasr Al-Aini Faculty of Medicine, explained that the reasons for lack of urinary control vary from one patient to another depending on age.

Mowafi said during his program “My Lord, Increase My Knowledge,” broadcast on Sada El Balad channel, that the lack of urinary control in the elderly is due to the weakness and slackness of the motor nerve responsible for closing and opening the bladder neck with age.
The professor of critical care medicine pointed out that there is no treatment that helps the motor nerve in the elderly regain its strength again, stressing that the cells of the nervous system and the brain are the only cells in the body that do not renew.

He explained that the only way to overcome the lack of urinary control associated with aging is for the patient to wear a diaper designed for the elderly, especially if he will be in a place that does not have a toilet.
